HST payments will be in the bank accounts of eligible residents today. It’s the first benefit cheque of the New Year and the third quarterly installment of the 2023 tax year. They may also include payments from provincial programs. The next quarterly payment will be in early April. The HST credit comes one month in of a two-month tax holiday where Canadians do not have to pay the HST on dozens of products.
